Located along the Indo-Tibetan border in Ladakh, the design for the Battalion Headquarters for the Indo Tibetan Border Police Force integrates tradition with technology. The concept for the master planning has evolved out of the universal symbol of Buddhism – the Dharma Chakra.

The extreme climatic zone with temperatures reaching down to -40°C coupled with harsh winds during winters called for extensive energy simulation. With sustainability forming the foundation of the design, technologies such as solar heating, power generation, cavity walls for thermal insulation etc. have been embodied within the design, to provide comfortable temperatures inside the habitable space.
