The Malaysian Embassy in India was conceptualized to represent the true tenets of Malay architecture in all its manifestations by interspersing the past with the modern building identity and materials to showcase the growth of the nation along with its pride in the roots of our culture through the centuries.
After studying the physical and social setting for the structure and the issues that characterize the site, a concept was prepared that represented both Malaysian and Indian influences. The traditional roof style was preserved but executed through the use of contemporary materials and techniques. Elements like jaalis, minarets, stilts, pitched roofs and high ceilings etc. were incorporated keeping in mind the architectural quality of the peninsular Malaysia.
